Desire paths

A manicured lawn with perfectly designed paths where the humans are supposed to walk. This lawn criss-crossed with paths made by humans that have different needs and outcomes from the design.

These paths are called "desire paths". The paths we design seldom align with our desired paths.

So is it on a lawn, and so is it in our being.
