Hot air

There is an apocryphal story of a duel fought in hot air balloons.

Each had the chance to shoot at the other's balloon. One missed, the other hit, and a farmhouse was flattened.

The story further goes that the slighted parties agreed to construct two balloons of the same dimensions for the duel. This construction took a few months.

What makes this story believable is the patience in which their anger was held never wavering from the need to destroy each other.

People going up to shoot each other down we believe.
People staying unreasonably angry we believe.

We have great capacity for believing in people.
