Our axioms differ
Once had a conversation on my set of beliefs about people and our ways of being in this world.
A friend joined the for seven seconds then politely declared: "Oh, our axioms differ". Then left.
Nothing was to be gained to argue about what we both held to be self-evidently true.
When our axioms differ, nothing can be gained by trying to change each other's minds. There is freedom and peace in this realisation.
