We hyper-focus and zoom in on what needs to happen. Increase our concentration and cut out everything else.
Much to our detriment.
That is an exhausting place to stay. People I know have the base state of staying "soft eyes" while doing what they need to do.
Soft eyes is the state of relaxed alertness, of centred awareness, asking "what else" while holding a clear but soft hold on the current moment.
It is when I start to tense up, and cut, when I know I am deleting too much.
